I’ve been busting my hump behind the scenes now for a few weeks, at the helm of this big rebrand, so-to-speak. Here we are, the early morning of March 2nd, and the site is, for all intents and purposes, done; hundreds of hours of data copying, graphics, and writing reviews, creating pages, and making the merch store. It’s not finished (and I doubt it ever WILL be finished in its’ entirety), but it’s close.
I have only streamed 4 times in over 2 weeks. I miss it badly. Tomb Raider is the next game in the trials, and learning it has been a huge challenge for me. Although I have run over 150 games at this point in my career, I have very little experience with 3D games as it is, and Tomb Raider isn’t just a 3D game… it’s a 3D game with tank controls that thinks it’s Mario 64. And oh, it isn’t. It’s by no means a bad game (far from it, I’m enjoying it a lot!), but I’ve been learning it for 31 hours at this point, I’ve still got 3 levels left to learn, and I’m nowhere near the level of a true Tomb Raider runner yet. Time will tell if I ever get to that point…
The new channel intro video is almost ready for OnlyLevelOne to start editing, as well. Dozens of streamers, actors, and Twitch personalities contributed quotes, clips, and cameos. Honestly, that project as it is, was ambitious and overwhelming in its’ own right. But that was also long overdue, and let me tell you: the new video will annihilate the old one if my intuition is correct. It will be funny, high-quality, fresh, and amazing. And, knowing OLO’s talents well, it will be unlike anyone else’s on Twitch.
I can’t wait.
Hopefully I’ll be back to full-time streaming in the next few days. I certainly hope so. This has been a challenging 3-week period, but the fruits of my labor are coming around.
Three weeks ago, I didn’t have a website, or a merch store, or a new intro video, and my next trials game was Tomb Raider, a game I have never played outside of a demo as a child. Sometimes, the hard work pays off immediately, and othertimes, well down the road. Time will tell where this period of my life falls in line…
